We had a great week shotgunning into our new area! It was terrifying at first, but we had a lot of help from the members. And we've only gotten lost about 20 times so far. It's actually really cool though, because just about every time we've gotten lost we've found someone that we weren't actually looking for.
The first time, we were trying to find our way back to our apartment so we asked a guy who was sitting on his porch for directions. Turned out that he and his wife are investigators. She gave us a ride home and we were able to teach her in the car!
Then, on Friday, we decided to try to find some of our investigators who lived in Goodman. We knocked on the door we thought was theirs, but it was a man named Gerald who seemed pretty interested in the church and said we could come back and teach him! Later, we found out that he is a former investigator from a couple years ago. The next door we tried was a less active member of the church who wasn't on our records at all. Crazy, right?
We spent most of our time this week knocking doors and talking to people outside. Sister Martin, wife of the bishop's son, invited us to come to her daughter's softball game. We almost declined but realized it would be a great opportunity to meet people from the community in a non-threatening kind of way. Plus, Sister Martin knew a lot of the other moms that would be there and agreed to introduce us. So we grabbed a huge stack of pass along cards with the Nauvoo temple on them and went with her. We made a game out of it to see who could give out all their cards first, including Sister Martin. It was so much fun! As a result, we have a young couple that we are meeting with on Wednesday for a lesson.
We are just having so much fun here in Anderson. I love being a missionary.
Love,
Sister Boll
