I'm running out of ideas for subject lines...

This week was my first week without a trainer. So far, we've only almost set the apartment on fire once. What happened was, we were practicing this object lesson called the "teabag display". It is a demonstration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ that culminates with a flaming teabag floating away, representing our spirits being free of sin and guilt. Anyways, we did something wrong and the flaming teabag landed on the carpet. Luckily we weren't demonstrating it for an investigator, or we might have driven them away from the church a little bit. "This is what will happen to you when you're baptized!" I stared at the small fire for a few seconds trying to process what was happening, and then picked up a mug full of dirty tea leaf filled water and dumped it all on the carpet. At least we didn't have to call the fire department, right?

As far as more missionary relevant matters go, this week has been great. We met this lady named Cheryl who just escaped from what she calls a "cultish baptist community" that was about to become a legitimate polygamist compound. She was forced to be there by her abusive husband but she finally ran away and the first thing she did was call the missionaries to come teach her. Apparently they were taught a lot of Anti Mormon stuff but it only made her more curious. She wanted to read the Book of Mormon but could never get her hands on one. So we taught her the first lesson and she flat out told us that she knew it was true. It was so awesome. She is definitely going to face a lot of opposition in learning about the church, but we are so excited to help her find what she has been looking for.

My favorite scripture this week is Psalms 8:4-6

4 What is aman, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou bvisitest him?
5 For thou hast made him a little alower than the bangels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
6 Thou madest him to have adominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
I think it really puts into perspective how despite the fact that we are basically a speck of dust in this vast universe, we mean MUCH more than that to our Heavenly Father.
