Autumn Leaves, Jesus Doesn't

I'm stealing another sister's idea of using a cheesy church marquee saying as my subject line. This week wasn't too eventful, we had a lot of meetings and classes to attend so we barely taught any lessons! But it was still a good week.

We got to go to the stake Women's Conference this week. The theme was "What is written on our hearts?" and there was a specific class we went to that I really liked. It was about the Atonement and using Christ as a foundation for our lives. The speaker really emphasized how the Atonement wasn't just a general feeling of pain and sorrow that Jesus went through for us. He literally experienced each feeling that we have individually felt. He felt what it was like to fail a test, to break an arm, to watch someone bully your child. I thought it was really cool how well she explained it.
Yesterday we had 8 less active members come to church! Plus an investigator named Kailyn who mostly just came because she thinks the Spanish Elders are cute, but she still came. It was great! We had the primary program and the kids were SO cute.

The lady named Rachel who showed up to church last week is getting baptized! The Elders went to go visit her on Wednesday and when they invited her to be baptized, she said "well...I guess I'm not doing anything this Saturday..." They had to explain to her that she should probably come to church more than once to see that every Sunday isn't "boy scout sunday" (That was the topic of sacrament meeting). Hahaha. She was already finishing up 2 Nephi at that point and getting into the Doctrine & Covenants. They ended up setting the date for November 3.

Well, there wasn't a lot of exciting news this week but I'll finish this email off with a scripture that was shared with us at the Women's Conference.

12 I say unto you, I would that ye should remember to retain the name written always in your hearts, that ye are not found on the left hand of God, but that ye hear and know the voice by which ye shall be called, and also, the name by which he shall call you.
