So on Wednesday, Sister Webb and I were trying to find a former investigator but we couldn't find the right house number anywhere. We decided to try to knock on a few doors and ask for directions. We went to a street that intersected with the street she was supposed to live on, and tried two doors there. Nobody answered, and I was about to walk back to our car, but Sister Webb said "wait! Let's try that one." and pointed at a crumbly looking little house with a "beware of dog" sign in the window. So we cautiously approached the house and knocked on the door. A young woman answered and her husband (or boyfriend?) walked over to the door too. We asked for directions (which ended up not being helpful at all) and then asked them if they would like to learn more about Jesus Christ and the Book of Mormon. They said that we were welcome to come back anytime so we left them with a copy of the Book of Mormon and agreed to meet on Friday.

When we showed up again, Will had read some of the Book of Mormon already and said that he liked the concept of it because he had read the Bible twice through already and had a lot of unanswered questions. Both Will and Vanessa have huge testimonies of Heavenly Father because of the experiences they have had. Vanessa is in her thirties and has already had 4 strokes. We taught them about the restoration of the gospel and Will said that he believed Joseph Smith could be a prophet and they agreed to pray about it! They are amazing.

We visited Glenda and Renae again this week, they were still struggling with just getting up in the morning to come to church. We talked about the story of Peter walking on water to go to Christ and how then the wind picked up he got scared and started to fall. We asked them what kind of things are the "wind" in their life, and Mike (Renae's husband) answered and said there is just so much temptation from the world to do other things that lead us away from Heavenly Father. We told them that we know that Christ is always reaching out his hand for them like he did Peter, and that it's never too late to turn their life around and come back to church.

Well, on Sunday, they all showed up! Glenda, Renae, their little sister Leann, and both of their husbands. We were THRILLED. The sad part was that they had to leave because Leann had a seizure and fell and hit her head...but they showed up! That's the important part. Hopefully they try again next week.

What a hectic week. Sister Webb and I are learning just how much we have to rely on Heavenly Father to get us through some of the crazy stuff that happens here. But we are having a blast and love the people here.
