Last week, we were invited to have dinner with a single lady in our branch named Sister Ledbetter. She invited her boyfriend, Brentley, over and we ended up having a really good conversation with him. He doesn't have very much religious background at all. Apparently a few days later, he was talking to a pastor, and mentioned that he was dating a girl who was LDS. The pastor said "oh stay away from her, you would never fit in with their church." Well Brentley took that as a challenge, and spend the rest of the evening on mormon.org reading up on the beliefs of the church, determined to figure out what was so crazy or different about us that he wouldn't belong. Obviously he didn't find anything, and he approached us the next day and asked for a copy of the Book of Mormon. He is already a few chapters in and loving what he has read so far. He's a little hesitant about formally meeting with us to be taught the lessons, but is definitely seeking truth in his life. It is so cool when we meet the people that have clearly been prepared by Heavenly Father to learn about the gospel.

On Saturday, we were helping Brother Jello and his family move into their new apartment when this young girl we see sometimes came up to us. She said "um...do you know Theresa? She lives over in that apartment upstairs." We told her we didn't know who that was and asked her why she wanted to know. She said, "well...um...I was wondering if you guys could...you know...talk to her about Jesus?" We found out that apparently her and her husband get in really bad fights all the time, and the little girl wanted us to teach them about Jesus so that they would stop fighting. I think I can now understand a little better why we are told in the scriptures to become as little children. That little girl had perfect faith in the power of Christ.
